Animation of forbidden game1/25/2024 ![]() And the crazy thing is we do not talk about it. Every animator I know goes through this situation, once in a week, once in a month or once in a year, but it always happens. How can you get “lazy” if you are working so hard and getting so tired? We start getting lazy but we don’t see it that way, because since we’re tired we feel like we MUST be putting a lot of effort. For me even playing videogames does not help because although I’m not “working” technically, my brain is pretty much excited about the game so instead of relaxing I’m actually getting more tired and mentally worn out.Īnd back at work I’ll produce even less in more time because of being mentally worn out. That’s the key really! You need to shut down your brain a bit. Lay down in the grass for thirty minutes while you feel the sun. For example, have lunch in a park, or do an outside sport. But you need to find relaxing moments in your day to day life. Almost no one in the world can do this nowadays. It’s all because we don’t listen to our body that it’s time to relax.Īnd when I say relax, I’m not saying bursting out the door, quit the job and go to an exotic island and relax there for 30 days. Moving around the mouse on the screen, we take longer coffee breaks, we go more often to the bathroom and we get sicker. But as we focus more and more we get tired and it becomes almost impossible to get a good work done in a decent time. And the thing is, we do not accept the tiredness within so we try harder to focus. And that’s when you find yourself trapped.īecause it’s almost like a taboo, people do not talk widely about bad things in animation, but everybody here and there feels that they need a break. And for me, it pretty much is! BUT, there is collateral damage in doing animation and it’s that we get pretty tired after some time. We’ve gotten so used to seeing in blogs, podcasts and books that animation is an incredible journey, is a work full of crazy cool stuff and you’ll feel like you’re in heaven. A single word we rarely hear discussed, but one that SHOULD be. Nice work.Hello there guys, what I want to talk about here is about a condition that most of people in the animation business do not talk about. I want to come back to this one and explore the combat system in more depth, these were just my first impressions. I think it's possible to have hectic crowd-combat, and also have clarity. Might be worthwhile to have enemy attacks more clearly broadcast, and only allow one or two to attack at a time. Rather, I just felt "I guess someone hit me with something, somewhere". I didn't quite feel like, "Ah that ninja got me". It really wasn't clear when an enemy hit me, except that I died. Here, I have guys all around me. This seems more like a beat-em-up, where you are mostly focused on crowd control. But in fighting games, you have one enemy who is always right in front of you. Changing direction in general seems difficult for me. When I hold left and attack, my expectation coming in was that I would attack to the left. With the controls, it feels like I'm fighting against my character a bit. The art and animation is obviously excellent. Thanks for the demo, and good luck with you game! Hope some of that helps! Will switch to my windows partition sometime this or next weekend for other demos, can see if this issue persists. WARNING: cleanup: ObjectDB instances leaked at exit (run with -verbose for details).ĮRROR: clear: Resources still in use at exit (run with -verbose for details). If I start combat, exit to menu, exit game. It doesnt trigger right as I get a kill mind you, so im only guessing that its based of that the seg fault doesnt seem to show up if I just dash back and fourth not killing enemies.Īlso noticed that if I start game only to menu and exit, no issue. Sometimes I can get 11 kills, sometimes only 5. Tried setting "total enemy count" to be equal to "max enemies active", didnt help. I can kill enemies though without triggering it, so ![]() Start killing enemies and the seg fault kicks in pretty quick. When I dash around and dont kill enemies, no issue. Got,Īlways kicks in fairly quickly after i start playing the actual game. I know seg faults can be a pain to track down the cause of so tried to figure out whats triggering it. Ran the game through the terminal to see if any error showed up. Either enemy attacks weren't always clear enough, or maybe try making it clearer when your losing health due to lack of bloodlust. There were times when it felt like a lost health without knowing why. Attacks feel like they have impact to them.
